Watch the compact ISC Block-Type beveler handle small bore tubing with precision
Overview
The ISC Block Type Series represents our precision solution for small-diameter tube beveling in boiler and heat exchanger applications. Using fixed cushion blocks matched to specific pipe diameters, these OD-mounted machines deliver exceptional concentricity and stability in confined tube bank environments.
Key Advantages
- Bidirectional clamping - Two-way block action ensures perfect centering
- Maximum rigidity - Fixed blocks eliminate play for precision bevels
- Ultra-compact - Lightest OD-mounted series at only 8-11kg
- Complete block sets - All sizes included for full range coverage
Why Block Clamping?
Unlike self-centering mechanisms, block clamping uses precision-sized cushion blocks that match the exact pipe OD:
- Maximum rigidity - No play or flex in the clamping
- Perfect centering - When block matches pipe size
- Ideal for production - Repetitive runs of same diameter
- Handles out-of-round - Better tolerance for imperfect pipes
Which Model Should You Choose?
For economizer and small boiler tubes (25-63mm OD):
The ISC-63C is purpose-built for boiler water wall panels and economizer sections. If 90% of your work falls within this range, it’s the most practical choice—and the lightest at just 8kg.
For mixed tube work (25-76mm OD):
Choose the ISC-76C for shops handling varied tube sizes. The slightly wider range provides flexibility without much weight penalty. Our most versatile block-type model.
For superheater and reheater tubes (63-89mm OD):
The ISC-89C targets the specific range common in high-temperature boiler sections. If your plant specializes in power generation components, this is the workhorse.
For larger tubes approaching small pipe (76-114mm OD):
The ISC-114C handles the upper boundary of tube work. Beyond 114mm, we generally recommend transitioning to our SOC Chuck Type or Cam-Type series for better performance.
Block Selection Tips
| Pipe OD | Use Block Size | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Exact match (e.g., 57mm) | 57mm | Ideal - maximum grip |
| Slightly under (e.g., 56mm) | 57mm | Acceptable - light grip |
| Between sizes (e.g., 58mm) | 57mm | Use smaller block |
| Out of round | Next size down | Prevents damage |
