See the SOC Series rapidly self-center and bevel pipe ends in seconds
Overview
The SOC Chuck Type Series brings lathe-style 4-jaw chuck technology to portable pipe beveling. The synchronous chuck mechanism centers pipes 10x faster than traditional screw clamps, while the separable flap ring allows side-mounting on installed piping. With 11 models covering 50-610mm and four drive options, SOC is our most versatile OD-mounted series.
Key Advantages
- 4-jaw synchronous chuck - One key turn centers any pipe in range
- Separable flap ring - Mount from side without end access
- 30mm wall capacity - Handles heavy-wall process piping
- Four drive options - Electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, or Metabo
Why 4-Jaw Synchronous Chuck?
Traditional pipe clamps use independent screws—adjust one, pipe shifts, re-adjust, check again. SOC’s synchronous chuck: turn one key, all jaws move equally, pipe centers automatically.
Separable Flap Ring Design
Most OD clamps must slide over the pipe end. SOC’s separable ring opens to mount from the side, enabling:
- Beveling installed piping
- Working on long pipe runs
- Access where end approach is blocked
- Quick repositioning along pipe
Which Model Should You Choose?
For small to medium piping (50-168mm OD, 2”-6”):
The SOC-168 covers the workhorse range for most fabrication shops. If you’re doing general process piping under 6”, this single model handles the majority of your work.
For standard industrial piping (89-325mm OD, 3”-12”):
Look at the SOC-230, SOC-275, SOC-305, or SOC-325 based on your most common pipe sizes. The SOC-325 is particularly popular among power plant contractors—it covers 6”-12” perfectly.
For larger process and power piping (219-426mm OD, 8”-16”):
The SOC-377 and SOC-426 serve heavy industrial applications. The SOC-426 is our best seller in this range, handling everything from refinery process lines to power plant steam systems.
For the largest OD-mounted applications (426-610mm OD, 16”-24”):
Our SOC-508, SOC-560, and SOC-610 extend OD-mounted capability to 24” pipes. Beyond 24”, we recommend transitioning to Split Frame machines for optimal performance.
