Products & Selection

What's the difference between ID-mount and OD-mount bevelers?

ID-mount bevelers clamp inside the pipe and are ideal when you have clear access to the pipe interior. They're typically lighter and faster to set up. OD-mount (clamshell) bevelers clamp around the outside and work on installed pipes where internal access isn't possible, such as pipes close to walls or in-place piping systems.

How do I choose the right beveling machine for my application?

Consider these factors: pipe diameter range, wall thickness, material type (carbon steel vs. stainless), bevel angle requirements, and working environment (shop vs. field). Our product comparison guides can help, or contact our engineers for personalized recommendations.

Can your machines handle stainless steel and other alloys?

Yes, all Kedes bevelers work on stainless steel, duplex, and other alloys. The key is using the appropriate cutting inserts—we offer specific grades optimized for different materials. Cold cutting is especially important for alloys to avoid heat-affected zones.

Operation & Maintenance

How often should cutting inserts be replaced?

Insert life varies by material—typically 200-500 bevels on carbon steel, significantly less on stainless or hardened materials. Replace when you see chatter marks, rough finishes, or increased cutting forces. We recommend keeping spare inserts on hand.

What maintenance does the machine require?

Regular maintenance includes: daily wipe-down of chips and debris, weekly lubrication of guide rails and bearings, monthly inspection of gears and drive components, and periodic calibration checks. We provide detailed maintenance schedules with every machine.

What should I check when the machine isn't cutting cleanly?

Nine times out of ten, it's either a dull insert or incorrect clamping. Check that the machine is seated square to the pipe face and the clamping force is even. For chatter marks, reduce your feed rate. For rough finishes, ensure you're using the right insert grade for your material.

Training & Support

Do you offer training for our operators?

Yes, we provide training videos with every machine and can arrange remote or on-site training sessions. Most operators become comfortable within one day of hands-on practice. The machines are designed for intuitive operation—the bigger challenge is usually convincing experienced welders to try new methods.

What's your warranty coverage?

All Kedes machines come with a 12-month warranty covering manufacturing defects. Wear parts like cutting inserts and clamping jaws are covered for 3 months. Extended warranty options are available for qualifying customers.

How quickly can you ship replacement parts?

We maintain stock of all common wear parts and can ship within 24-48 hours to most locations. For urgent situations, we offer expedited shipping options. We recommend customers maintain a basic spare parts kit for critical operations.

Customization & Orders

Can you customize machines for specific applications?

Absolutely. We regularly modify bevel angles, clamping ranges, and tool configurations for specific project requirements. Custom adaptations are available for unusual pipe sizes, special materials, or unique working conditions. Contact our engineers to discuss your needs.

What are your minimum order quantities?

We have no minimum order—you can purchase a single machine. For volume orders, we offer quantity discounts and can discuss custom configurations or branding options.

Do you offer rental or lease programs?

Currently we focus on sales and don't operate a rental fleet. However, we work with several equipment rental companies who stock our machines. Contact us for referrals in your region.
